Intro: Show passion of mechs and fighting—father’s approval most important thing—Father wants him to restore family name and doesn’t believe Dart will do it
Dad sends into city on errand—Goes into the city and sees amazing tech—shows us what’s possible in the world
Conflict introduced: How great Dart’s dad is/Dart sent with letter and turned away/dad killed by Mechateer
Show how bad the cardinal is—encounter with guard that makes him want revenge
Mysterious death of father—wants to make good on his father’s pressure to restore Glory of family
Gears up mech goes on warpath
Sees the guard that disrespected him earlier, goes after him
Mess up the 3 Mechateers’ day in the chase that ensues—challenges to duel
Loses the guard he’s chasing
Duel in churchyard—finds out the 3 Mechateers are together, but not on best terms/out of sync
Dart showing that he pulls them together
Cardinal’s guard escapes—right as Dart discovers that guard likely killed his father
Tells the Mechateers what he knows about the plot
3 separate plans based on Dart’s plan
Figure if the machine that corrupts gems is in the guards’ barracks, but fail to find it. Caught by guard, saved by the Queen
Queen summons them and gives a mission to find the diamond (which they do not know is being used to make Dart’s father’s machine work)—she found torn eyepatch, Dart knows it’s the guy that lives above the bar. She’s accused of having an affair with English Lord/Prince
Chase through the city-show what makes the 3 mechateers great
Catch the guy, find out that he was just a stooge of Mr. Big Mobster
Fight their way into the lair of Mr. Big Mobster, who is English, tells them they are fools for thinking they can stop the oncoming invasion.
Because this guy is English, they go to confront English Lord/Prince (by sneaking in/quietly disabling guards) to find out what’s going on
Find out that Cardinal’s underling promised them the technology






Stop the Cardinal’s plot:
-Control people via mechs
-Crown himself king of neo-France
-Ban machinery except at Cardinal’s command
-Gems that he can control—maybe even corrupting existing gems
-Leverage connections to Royalty to undercut their authority
-King and other Royals listen to him
-Playing King against Queen, Marquis against the Royals, etc.
-I will make everything perfect—Lift the world from the common soot and oil
-Fight against the non-religious
-Runaway technology—False Luddite/traditionalist—anti-warmongering
-Says technology should be blessed
